Our Story
How Chanawat began
Chanawat began as a small repair bench in a rented room near Thanon Ratchadamnoen. The founder, who had spent several years learning movement servicing in Bangkok, returned to Chiang Mai wanting to work more deliberately — spending real time with each watch rather than processing pieces in volume.
The name belongs to the family. It was chosen as a reminder that the workshop should feel personal: a place where a client can sit, ask questions, and understand what is happening to their watch before any work begins.
Over time, three core services shaped themselves naturally out of what clients most needed: timing regulation for watches drifting off their rate, strap fitting for those wanting a comfortable and well-matched replacement, and written appraisals for pieces being insured or passed to the next generation.
The People
Our small team
Watch repair in Chiang Mai — what matters to us
There are many places in Thailand to hand in a watch. What makes a workshop worth returning to is usually simpler than technical credentials: does the person explain what they are doing, do they call when something unexpected comes up, and is the watch returned in better condition than it left?
At Chanawat, we focus on three services because they are the three things clients in Chiang Mai most often need. A watch that runs a few minutes fast each day can be brought back into a normal rate through careful regulation. A strap that has worn thin or simply no longer suits the watch can be changed with the right advice about proportion and material. A family watch that sits in a drawer because nobody knows what it is worth can be assessed and documented so it is no longer a mystery.
We work from a fixed address in Sri Phum because being findable and consistent matters to clients who are leaving something valuable in our care. You can call ahead, visit without an appointment during working hours, or send a message through the contact form to arrange a convenient time.
Our pricing is set per service and shown clearly on our Solutions page. There are no assessment fees charged separately from the service itself. If after a diagnostic session we find that a watch needs no adjustment, we will tell you that and charge accordingly.
